In an imaginary world we could all have the kitchen of our dreams. We don't live in an imaginary world however, and what is . . . is. I am afraid I am stuck with my little podunk kitchen . . . and all of it's lack of space. That doesn't mean I don't have a wish list however. I think everyone has a wish list. You know what I mean. A list of things you wish you could have and hope to have one day . . . once upon a time, and happily ever after . . .
I really like this Kitchen Aid free standing double oven, convection gas range stove. It has everything I want in a stove. Even heat, glass controls, easy slide in and out satin glide racks. What more could a serious cook ask for!
I love this set of Mason Cash pottery mixing bowls. They remind me of the mixing bowl my mum used to have and how I accidentally broke it. Of course I love Mason Cash anything. I am especially fond of their Enamour line of pottery in the white with the dark blue trim.
Love this Joseph Joseph kitchen caddy and tools set. I love Joseph Joseph anything actually. I love the bright colours and their innovative designs. I would be well pleased with anything made by Joseph Joseph.
Having said that however, I really, REALLY like this OXO 15 piece set which contains the most-used kitchen utensils, all organized in
anultra-stylish countertop crock. Whatever the prep and cooking task at
hand, this nonstick-safe set includes the required tool: tongs with
nylon heads, grater, swivel peeler, nylon flexible turner, nylon square
turner, nylon spoon, nylon slotted spoon, ice cream scoop, potato
masher, soft-handled can opener, balloon whisk, silicone spatula, meat
tenderizer and a pizza wheel. Oval crock with removable drip tray
occupies a small footprint. What more could a person ask for?
Le Creuset anything . . . I love Le Creuset and I especially love this colour. I have one small casserole that I was sent a few years ago and I use that all the time. I used to have some to use when I worked at the Manor, but those didn't belong to me. I know they are heavy, but they are very good. I miss them.
While I am at it I might as well ask for a decent microwave/convection oven don't you think?
A decent set of ceramic/porcelain bakeware would also be nice. Mine is all chipped and half of the casserole dishes are missing lids or I have lids with no matching casseroles . . . sigh . . . the casualties of war I guess!
A a really decent Refrigerator/freezer would be nice, bearing in mind I have a small kitchen. A side by side would be really lovely. I don't necessarily want a cold water/drinks option. I have learned through experience that all they do basically is to take up much needed room on the inside door!
This Samsung Refrigerator/freezer and dish washer would do me just fine!
I am awfully fond of green gate as well. I have some of their blue pieces, but have never seen the red and white. Had I done . . . I would have fallen in love with these.
Oh My Goodness . . . can you hear my heart strings plunking???
This Mason Cash Bread Baking set. Don't you just love the bowl? Oh, and that's a baking stone on the top! Love, Love, LOVE!
Nordicware Bakeware. This set includes all the basics needed to start or refresh a bakeware collection. Cake pans in a variety of shapes and a half-sheet pan set are versatile, perfect for making breakfast granola, roasting dinner and baking dessert. The Nordic Ware Naturals collection features classic baking pans in natural aluminum, which conducts heat evenly and never rusts. Reinforced, professional-grade bakeware will last through a lifetime of cookies, cakes, muffins, loaves of bread and roasted vegetables and chickens. Lovely!
I had to leave all of my bundt tins back in the UK. I had about 4 different ones. Right now I would settle for this basic Nordicware Anniversary Bundt tin. In honor of their 65th anniversary they have released this beautiful Bundt® cake pan design with an updated platinum nonstick finish. Durable
cast aluminum pan with the signature fluting cooks quickly and evenly
and releases beautifully shaped cakes that require no additional
decoration. Sign me up!
I love white in a kitchen, don't you? I love, LOVE this set of three nesting stoneware bakers, a Crate and Barrel exclusive. They transition easily from oven to table and clean up in the
dishwasher. Understated handles make for easy carrying. They are right up my alley.
I just found your blog today and I love it. Of course I have been in love with England from all the novels I have read over the years. Wish I had this resource years ago when I raised my children. I'll check back again soon.
