ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Marie !!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas from Oregon in the USA.........I just wanted you to know I had a Prime Rib for Christmas dinner today and made Yorkshire Pudding, following a English womans' recipe and they were perfect........I am so proud and will NEVER feel scared to make them again...........
ReplyDeleteI think my recipe for yorkshires is pretty special! We Brits know how to do them. Glad you found a recipe you liked! I love Prime Rib! You have my mouth watering now.
DeleteSeasons greetings!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat, Gloria and Jill! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Marie and Happy Boxing Day (is that what people in England say? Happy Boxing Day? And what, is it any way?)Lisa
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! Boxing Day is the day right after Christmas. Traditionally in Victorian times, the servants would have to work on Christmas Day. In lieu they would get a half day off The day after Christmas, and the masters would present them with Christmas boxes, which generally contained fabric to make new uniforms, etc.
DeleteMmmmm, that doesn't sound like too much of a holiday. Half day off and then fabric that I will need to make my new uniform. Yikes! I too had success with my Christmas Pudding, but sadly there were no leftovers so I can't make the Pudding Ice Cream dessert.
DeleteTo the ones who worked tirelessly for the wealthy 24/7 with possibly 1/2 day off a week, from very early in the morning to late at night, it was a real bonus to have 1/2 day off and be given gifts as well. We love to romanticise those times, but in reality unless you were wealthy life was quite horrible. Happy you had a great Chsitsmas Pudding, but bummer about the dessert! xo
